We’ve pulled some of the most frequently asked questions and compiled them all into one place. Chances are you’ve got the same questions that were on someone else’s mind. Should you have any other questions that we may have missed, don’t hesitate to reach out.
What is the purpose of RYSC?
The purpose of RYSC is to develop boys and girls who wish to play soccer at a more competitive level than a recreational league. The club will develop players by reinforcing more advanced technical skills, tactical awareness, physical conditioning and sportsmanship.
Are you a Travel or Recreation Program?
We are a Travel Program for U9-U15. We also have a 4 week session of Little Soccer Kickers for Ages 5-8 for those interested in trying soccer.
What League do you participate in?
We are a club that participates in the Ohio Travel Soccer League (www.ohtsl.com). There are currently 111 communities and 946 teams in all levels and ages in their League.
Are you community based or a club soccer program?
We are a community based program like all teams that compete in OHTSL. Our club area covers the Riverside School District as well as players residing in the 44077 zip code and also any players outside of this area in which their community may not have a program or team available for your player to join. We are able to take a very small number of players that do not fit in that area and those are handled on a case by case basis by team.

How far do you travel for the games?
We play against teams in the surrounding areas generally within a 45 minute drive (depending on age and division).

Where are the home fields located?
Our home fields are located behind Riverview Elementary for U9 through U12 and the fields at Riverside High School for U13-U15.
How often are practices and games?
Depending on the team and coach, practices are generally a couple days a week for 1-1.5 hours with a game usually once a week depending on the schedule for your age group and division. Many games are on Sundays but based on field availability there may be evenings during the week.
How long is your Season?
Our "year" runs from Fall- Spring so players rostered for Fall will be on the same team for Spring. There are 8 games played each season for a total of 16 per year. 4 home games and 4 away games per season.
Can I join a team outside of Tryouts?
If you missed tryouts you can always reach out to us to see if there are any openings for your age group. If there are openings available, the coach can reach out to you for a tryout. Placement on a team is dependent on roster availability and we are always looking to add teams.

When are Tryouts?
Tryouts are held late May or Early June for the following year. We will hold an additional Tryout in January for any open positions on Teams for the Spring Only Season. Please check back to our site closer to these times for details.

Are your coaches and staff members paid?
All coaches and staff members are volunteers and most of them are parents. We are a non-profit club.

How much does it cost to play travel soccer for Riverside?
Cost for 23-24 Travel Soccer is $195 plus uniform kit (approximately $85). This covers both Fall and Spring Season. In addition, each player will need soccer socks, shin guards, soccer cleats, and a soccer ball (size 4 for U9-U12 and size 5 for U13-U15).

How big is RYSC?
For the 23-24 year, we have 118 players on 10 teams. We have a U9 Girls Team, 2 U9 Co-ed Teams, 2 U10 Co-ed Teams, a U11 Co-ed Team, a U12 Co-ed team, a U14 Co-ed team and a U15 Girls Team.
